Marco Hoch – Project Management & Lighting Technology
Marco’s professional journey began in 1993 with an apprenticeship in retail management, which he successfully completed in 1996. Until the end of 2001, he gained valuable experience in various companies, most recently serving as department head at a major electronics retail chain.
In 2002, Marco entered the event industry – starting out as a Stagehand, but quickly advancing through countless productions to become head of lighting and project manager. From the very beginning, he was captivated by the technology and fast-paced nature of the business.
His career path led him from small technical service providers focused on corporate events, to larger Berlin-based companies, and ultimately to renowned festivals such as SMS, Melt, Splash, and Lollapalooza. Over the years, he took on increasing responsibilities, ranging from designing complete lighting systems to leading entire departments.
Around 2014, Marco transitioned into touring – a field that remains especially close to his heart. What fascinates him most are the ever-changing challenges that each new day on tour brings. Since then, he has worked with artists including Casper, AnnenMayKantereit, Paul Kalkbrenner, and currently Provinz.
Another milestone in his career was his involvement in LED perimeter advertising, used not only in football but also at events such as handball and athletics. During the pandemic, Marco took on a permanent role as project manager at a company specializing in LED perimeter systems, overseeing the delivery of numerous sporting events. At the same time, he remained true to his passion for touring, continuing to support artists on the road.
Outside of work, Marco enjoys sports and immersing himself in “nerdy” computer and electronics projects – the perfect balance between physical activity and technical tinkering.
